I hate when I get good job opps from places I wouldn't move to...

OK, admittedly, this is just a total off-topic rant...but I am often getting job opportunities in the inbox and on my voice mail from places I could never ever move to, and wouldn't really get along very well. Not that I don't respect such state to live and rule as they see fit (big fan of states rights) but such areas simply wouldn't jive with me, my lifestyle, or that sort of thing.

Of course the hiring managers in question don't know that, so I can hardly get mad at them, it's just frustrating...read a job req, it reads as a perfect match, good money attached to the job (sometimes really good) and then I see the location...and it's so deflating...so defeating...

Bah!

Thanks for listening/reading.

I would say that I can relate, except there are no job offers coming in. Ha ha.

But I think moving away from friends/family would be the hardest part for me... even if I don't agree with people, I tend to get along with most everyone.

LOL, fair point, and sorry jobs aren't rolling in.

Of course, my issue isn't getting along with "people" perse', I have friends and family whose beliefs and lifestyles run across the board...my issue is more the socio-political climate of given areas. Places that have overly restrictive hunting and gun laws wouldn't jive with me, overly restrictive personal land restrictions such as regulating water collection and such, places with too high of taxes, places with too poor of schools...that sort of thing is what I am talking about when I saw "places I wouldn't move to".

LOL, yeah, I'd love to move to Canada for the hunting, fishing, outdoor life, but too much of the rest of it prevent me from doing so...such beautiful land up there...
