Audition 3 and Roland UA-30

I want to record sound from my stereo system on my computer using Audition 3.0. I have the sound from my computer going to the Line-In of my Roland UA-30 (A-D converter box). I can hear the stereo's sound through the UA-30. I have set the UA-30 as the default recording device in the Windows control panel, but when I try to start Audition, I get a splash screen error message saying "audio input not activated". What must I do? I have done this for years, but maybe not on my newer (now a year old) Windows 7 machine. Please help.

I don't know how Audition 3 works exactly, but in Audtion 1.3 in the multitrack view, on the far left of each track there is a little button, I think it says "I". If you press that button, you select the input for that specific track.

If you are in wave editor view, you might need to go to the preferences in Audition and choose your recording input device.

Either way, I suspect that you have to tell Audition which device you will be recording from.

I am not very familiar with audition, but, I assume somewhere in it's preferences, or within each track, most likely both, you need to select the device that is being used. Dig around those application prefs, you'll find it.
