Hello, my keyboardist Burak wants to know how would you run a MIDI sequencer to stand-alone SoftSynth such as Absynth, into Sonar 2. He has Finale and Noteworthy Composer. Are those Capable of running into the Absynth and into Sonar? He is looking to buy Absynth, but doesnt know if he needs to buy another sequencer. Tanks, bye

May 27, 2003 04:29 pm I know that Sonar supports a lot of MIDI plugins, I think it supports DXi and DirectX. I don't think it supports VST however, but I'm not sure if absynth is a vsti or not. Either way you could get a vst to dx plugin which should make it work. Don't take my word for it though, really don't know what i'm talking about

May 27, 2003 09:17 pm If he is running Sonar 2.2 there is a VST wrapper built for it now. And it is also available in Project 5 as a standard piece of software. I believe CakeWalk is selling the Wrapper for about $25.00 US. And if Absynth is a ture stand alone and is not a VSTi or DXi then you might look at Hubis Loopback device.

This will allow most any midi capable program to be linked to another via the virtual midi port that Hubis creates.
