Punch In /Punch Out

I have recorded a piece of music using Cubase and there is an error in it that I would like to correct.

I have used punch in/punch out to correct errors in the past and it has worked beautifully. But, this particular file won't play through past the right locator after it has corrected. It loops back to the left locator and keeps recording it over and over.

I know that I must have changed a setting but I cannot find which one.

Does anyone out there know? I could re-record the piece, but then I wouldn't have learned how to resolve my problem.

Thanks for your help - someone - whoever you are.

Puzzled!

In cubase if your left and right locators are set and you have loop selected on your transport panel (f2) then it will loop. Just un-select loop. It looks like an arrow in the shape of a D (or something) and its next to the stop square. Hope that helps.

Unless you have it in stacked record mode. In which case you need to put record mode back to mix (midi) mode. I realized in your post that you said it records over and over, not that it plays over and over. So this is probably whats wrong.
