Finally got the Craigslist ad to post earlier today, and got a call a couple hours ago. Met at the mall, had him drive it a little, check it over, etc. etc.

Took a down payment, and the guy's coming back tomorrow to pay the rest, at which point we'll take care of the details (tags/title/etc.)

I probably didn't get the absolute most I could have for the car had I waited a bit longer, but the price I'm getting probably isn't bad given the age and mileage. Plus I did want to get it sold before the snow started in. (which it's getting really close here) All in all I think I got a decent amount for it after factoring in reimbursements on insurance and the like.

So yeah. Finally sold the thing hehe. :)

LOL. I did have a flitting moment of GAS, but it is kept back. Nah, I will put part of the money in the account, like maybe 30%, And I'm going to use the other 60% to open up an intermediate term fund to help save up for a new car for when we get ready to move.

I kinda like the Prius, but I may look at other options too. I mean I know those battery packs cost a lot to get replaced when it gets time to do it. Do want to get a hatchback though.

I kinda like the VW Golf/GTI models. But I also had great experiences with my old '97 Honda Accord....before the A/C crapped out in 2006 anyway. (florida heat and hot/cold changes running the A/C basically busted the casing of the evaporator)

So I may look at getting a Honda. I didn't like Ford in the past but I do respect them for not giving into the bailout crap, so I may look at them as well.

Got a good year or two before we get to that point, so plenty of time to decide.

*EDIT/UPDATE* Car is officially sold......and I'm hoping I didn't leave my cell-phone in it >_<

Well, the Ford is what I just went with. I went out and bought a 2012 Escape Hybrid.

And I love the thing. If you are looking to go this route, the 2013 model is going to be a complete overhaul on the body design.
