Hey everyone,
I made a mixing friend on here, but I forgot his user name. So, sorry Mike!!! Haha.
Anyways, my band The Anxiety Effect have been recording and gearing up for our E.P, release. The user I met here is doing the mix and possibly the master for us. We recorded the tracks here in my studio. This version is the latest version from the mostly complete song we have as of right now.
We're looking for feedback, not just on the mix, but the music in general. And we're hoping any of you who like it, will help us promote it. We are on Facebook and could use somre more likes/.shares as well.
Here is the link to our Reverb Nation page. Please check it out for us! Thanks!
WARNING - Some dirty words included in the lyrics.

Nov 08, 2011 02:36 pm Well, coming from an 'Ol school metal guy... not bad at all. Good, heavy, hard-hitting s****!
Not really big fan of the vox-style, however the guitars sound great!
Good stuff, man! A fine effort, indeed.
Oh, and I think you may be looking for Mike... aka Quickxkid, here. = )

Nov 08, 2011 02:54 pm At first, I was thinking it sounded like Prong /Kataklysm /Sick of It All. There was a lot of drive to the song, but no real originality in the sound. But then the song detoured at took a nice "Extol-like" exit.
Personally, I would have done some of that slower, solo'd work during the middle too ...to break up some of the redundancy between versus and then used it again as a shorter outro. Otherwise, nice effort. Live, this song probably sounds brutal!!!
Nov 08, 2011 03:35 pm Thanks for the feed back back fellas.. We're never really going to be that original as far as style goes. We have influences and styles we like, and we do it for the love it. But I get what you mean for sure.
I'm the vocalist, so I perk up on the critics to that. I'm not one to get offended, I know what I/we do isn't everyone's thing. But I thank you guys for given it a listen! We're just looking to share it online with everyone who cares enough because we have junk schedules and don't get to play out as much as we'd like.
And yes, Mike would be the QuickxKid. He's doing a hell of a job with our stuff!
Thanks so far for the feedback fellas! We're online everywhere to if you wanna keep tabs at all.

Nov 09, 2011 02:36 am I think its darn near impossible to get an original sounding metal song. If its tough and fun to play, its probably already been done. All the progressions and tunings and combinations of the two have already been done. The only thing left to explore are time signatures, and there's only a handful that are listenable (there are some Tool songs that make me respect the dudes for being able to keep time, but they just rub my ears the wrong way...)
That being said, I really dig this style. My fav genre is modern hardcore (A Day To Remember, etc.) but I love bands the likes of Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, anything tough. Metal is rad, end of story. I'm glad I was able to hop on board with this band and get involved with the process.
Oh and thanks for the love on the mix guys!

Nov 09, 2011 11:02 am Right on, Rockwood610. Yeah, Mike has been mixing our colabs here, and doing a fine job with it as well. = )
My band doesn't play out much either... places like Reverb Nation are great to get musician-oriented feedback. Lets you know how viable the act can be, too.
Nov 11, 2011 08:32 am This is nice. Sounds good for this style of music.
I like the vocal style.
Nice work.
