I had this composition idea...uploaded it

I got my wisdom teeth out and decided to make a stream of consciousness expression of what it was like right before they knocked me out with nitrous and valium. I really didn't like getting my wisdom teeth out and the fact that I had to go under general anesthesia wasn't comfortable for me; the procedure didn't go very well to top it off...and for some reason that was inspiring enough to get me writing. It was too simple to make a whole song out of the concept, and I can't stand making repetitive compositions so I decided to make it a song that tells a story with sound rather than lyrics. It's not about building a melodic theme at all. Thinking of doing a whole series of short expressive pseudo-songs. I think my next one will be about cleaning up after my puppy's accidents on the carpet. So I guess the trick to listening would be to let your creativity go nuts on your interpretation. Every sound is there for a reason; and the reason had something to do with the environment or my thoughts or involuntary reactions. The only lyrics are 'say "ah"' and "no want". The other vocalizations are just manipulations of those words.

Maybe it's too "heady" an idea...whatchu think?

It's not mixed at all, just a rough draft to see if this is something I want to do more of. It's in my profile called "Say ah! ...No Want :("

Yeah man, you're right, I need to spend more time with classical compositions. I've been really into Stravinski for the past few years, but haven't gone much earlier than that. I'm a big Zappa fan too. I downloaded a few classical compilations back when I had my Zune account...but I've since cancelled that service so I'll have to poke around. I think it was Bach that I grabbed a bunch of, but it was mostly soloist stuff and wasn't interesting to me at all. I listened and thought it sounded like the Steve Vai of the 1700's. "Great, you can shred on a cello...big whoop"

Any particular recommendations?

Actually, this sounds really ******* cool! I could easily see that turning into a song if you were to let someone else take hold of it and seperate from your wisdom tooth experience.

Edit: Actually, the opening reminds me of the very beginning of this song... just the connection I made in my head... not sure anyone else would hear it.

You have to understand before I say this that I mean it as a compliment- seriously!!

It sounds like something I would make with E-Jay back in the day; E-Jay was my first experience with digital recording and I found it fascinating, challenging, and altogether entrancing. It's what got me into music in the first place. And might I add that I was a pretty bad a$$ E-Jay/DeeJay maker.

I'm not much for techno now, but I love what you've done. I still do indulge in the occasional trance/jungle beat, by way of my favorite ATB and Darude type artists of olden days. And it kind of reminds me of ye olde times I'd rather not discuss because of my 'Intake,' but I actually love it.

I really hope you make a much longer version. My only suggestion is to space the timing from "Say" and "AH" Because it sounds like "SEGA" to me, lol. A show of age I suppose.

And Coolo, don't leave your town man; you may be too cool for school, but your town loves you!

I've got a vision.

Tune idea sounds great to me, but I'd love to hear something more psychedelic (intro promises something like that) instead of those helium-driven voices screaming WARNING! TEKNO! in my mind! :D

It also reminds me (very slightly) of this Eamon's tune:
