Blown amps in powered speakers...how to connect power amp

both of the amps are blown in a pair of american audio powered PA speakers I have ...I was told that I could just use an external power amp and hook it up to the speakers...is it just as easy as plugging it into the speakers or do they need to be configured a certain way??

No, it's no that hard to do. But, you will need a crossover. The amp section of your speakers contained the crossover. Just keep that in mind.

But, all you do is buy an NL4 panel mount connector. Drill a hole in the side of you speaker to where it will lay flat. Cut the Red and the Black wires going to the woofer, and put the Red on 1+ of the NL4. And the Black on 1-. Do the same for the tweeter, but put them on 2+ and 2-.

And that is all there is to it. Just as I pointed out, you will need a crossover to run them at that point.
