Yep, an interface is basically a fancy sound card, be it internal or external. As long as you're getting audio through it, you can play anything you want through it really.

I use an Echo Audiofire4, and I use it for day to day activities besides recording or mixing/monitoring. Same with my monitors really.

Are you going to be recording with the sound card at all? Or you just want it for playing video games and movies?

thanks for responses!!

coolo: in a few weeks Iam going to upgrade my audio on computer... I want just enjoy music more... Iam going to buy Tannoy Reveal 501a but I have got only stupid integrated sound card on motherboard... so I was told in other forum that I might need some new one for better quality of sound... I have choossen this Alesis sound card because it has got volume controler witch is useful because it is dificult to change volume on these tannoys... and also I have got Roland music workstation keyboard but I never recorded anything in my life so I am thinking in the future with this sound card.. maybe it will by needed if I want to record something... if you got some advises on another soundcard feel free to respond...
now I want to know how are this external audio interfaces working in every day situations... If I want for example watch movies with it or playing games, calling using skype etc... and also if it is working on windows 7 64 bit...

thanks a lot!
