Apr 12, 2011 07:21 pm Love the Foo Fighters. That was epic! lol
Reminds me of the cover we butchered. It was done in pretty much a garage as well so it is almost like we have somehting in common - lol ya right

Apr 12, 2011 09:40 pm Gotta say it looks like making those manual edits really looks like a PITA to do. But still, it's all about the sound. My wife was amused, and noted the free usage of F-bombs. She's a fan of the fighters of foo as well.
Looks like and awesome setup.

Apr 13, 2011 04:45 am yeah, i know alot of ppl have honed in on the tape aspect, but i sent this vid to my band mates to push my agenda of recording ANYWHERE. Tape is of course really out there for most ppl and it (along with their other top gear and engineers) r wat separate them from just any band recording in a garage, but im a firm believer in the philosophy that u dont need a million dollar studio with perfectly treated live spaces, u just need a space u like and that compliments ur sound
a run of the mill setup getting YOUR sounds is worth a ton more than the best rig making u sound like someone else
btw, the album they recorded in that garage sounds badass

Apr 13, 2011 01:23 pm There is one other aspect of their recording space is that they are comfortable in it. A truly polished recording studio can be a bit sterile and uninspiring.

Apr 13, 2011 08:48 pm Very nice! Thanks for sharing. Looks like I need to give mom's garage a go sometime soon...
I'm supposed to record a rap group (they have all live instruments running through an ableton rig) in a chicken coop pretty soon. That ought to be interesting too! hah
