Hi guys. I have a small room that I would like to add a voice over recording system too. Budget is about £1000. Just looking for the best kind of quality possible with that kind of money. Bare in mind I know nothing about equipment. I'd also like to have the mic attached to a swing arm of some sort so it doesn't get in the way of my 4 monitors when Im not using it. I have a mac pro currently (8-core). All pci-e slots are being used so I can't add an internal sound card. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Apr 06, 2011 07:43 pm Depends on your voice, but for male broadcast type stuff an sm7b, electrovoice RE20, or Senneiser 416 would all be great options. The 416 being far superior from the sound tests I've heard. Also would require that you bump up your budget. Sm7b, Symetrix 528, a two channel interface like the MBox 2 and Adobe Audacity would get it done for your budget, assuming you don't want to mess with recording music later on down the line, and want to make vocal effect tweaking as simple as possible.
