Help with mixer Please
I have a Mackie VLC 1202 mixer, and I have read many posts and in the Mackie manual as well that speak of the +4--10 switch, (on my mixer it actuall says +4-Mic, I'm assuming that's the same thing). I understand that the -10 switch reduces the output level so that when that level is displayed on the mix you are still around 0db. But I cannot get a grasp on is going to consumer electronics or pro audio gear for the +4 setting? I really just wanna know which would be the best setting for me. I get decent mixes now but always looking to learn and improve my mixing skills as I am still an amature home studio just recording for myself. My set up is. Follows:
Mackie VLZ 1202
Alesis 2 channel compressor- on channel insert
Sampson 31 band stereo EQ- on send
BBE Sonix Maximizer- in line after mixer
MBox 2 interface with Pro Tools LE8
dual core 2.0 computer with 4 Gig Ram
Any help would greatly Appreciated
Thank You
