hey everyone,
I need to free up some latency for Cubase LE4 on my PC(laptop) so that i avoid the crackling sound that i get every now and then when i playback my recordings/compositions. Cubase LE4 tells me im recording @ Rec: 44100Hz - 24Bit - Max:397h 38min - 30 fps - Pan:Equal Power. I am running the program on Windows 7 with 4 gigs of ram.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What type of audio interface do you have and what type of driver (WDM or ASIO) are you using?

To "dB Masters": I am currently using the M-Audio Fast Track Pro interface(ASIO driver). Ive found a control panel for my interfaces latency, but if i change it will i mess something up?? Id rather not try before knowing wether or not it will cause damage to either my system or the interface.
And to "Dematrix": my primary concern is for live performances. I am a drummer and I just recently had the idea of listening to the tracks(our songs Imported into CubaseLE4) with a click track over top for speed ups. It realy helps me keep on tempo but every now and then i get the crackling and stuttering on the track. So to answer your question, i am only running one track at a time with the click over top(with no VSTs and no FXs). All this will be outputted through my new "Alien Ears" in-ear monitors when practicing and playing live.

And thanks for the replies. Much appreciated guys.
