Recommendation for mic room for guitar cabinet

I am thinking about moving my recording set up to a new room in my house that has a small walk in closet. Use the room as my studio and the closet for my amp cabinet and mics. Right now I record my guitar in the same area as my computer and recording software (basically just a small spare bedroom). The closet I plan on using for my amp cabinet and mic is 6 ft wide x 3 ft deep x 8 ft tall. I am really trying to determine if I should sound proof the closet walls?

Only using 1 dynamic mic currently, I plan on adding a condensor mic if I do the new set up.

Thanks for any advice....

Soundproofing (even "just a little bit" of soundproofing) the closet walls would require nearly complete reconstruction of the closet. And after, it'll sound even worse than it does now. You don't want to put a "room mic" in a closet.

Personally, you don't want to put ANY mic in a closet (except for storage).

Put the noisy computer in the closet.

yup, closet's are bad

I used to play around with my one here too with guitar,

sounds like turd, then chucked up some egg carton foam for less of an angry sound, but nup, then moved my vocals in there, nup.

Not too good at all. i guess the Spl's build up in there too.
there's nowhere for the sounto go, just goes nuts in the mic.

To be fair, there are ISO cabinets. Not saying the closet is an ISO cab, but u could easily put one in there or construct one. Wouldn't be amazing but if u really want to make use of it and also need sound proofing, an iso cab might do the trick.

I use to build little pillow forts (skills!) around the cabs, helps in a crap room situation, atleast u can get some direction for ur sound so its not all doubling off the walls n such.
