Problems with Cubase LE -an error occurs each time I try to mixdown

I have been having real problems with Cubase LE - I have recorded 2 tracks simultaneously on there - there was no difficulty with the recording. But when I click on mixdown to export the file, I keep getting a message saying "an error occurred during mixdown". This has happened with all 3 songs I have been working on - I can't understand why.

This is really frustrating as I finished these tracks over a month ago and I really want to get them exported now.

What happens when the master is close to peaking? I am not really familiar with all aspects of Cubase LE.

On your stereo master, which is the "main out" if things are peaking i think it has a whinge about that there.

Now i think of it tho, maybe thats what i thought it was for me at the time and found out it was something else.

I cant remember right now. but anyway check it out and turn it down anyway as you dont want it peaking.

basicly the master peaking will result in yucky stuff going on with you audio, like scratchy, clicky, poppy type sounds, just like anything that's turned up too loud.

make sure your "left and right locaters" are set properly too, tho i think that the prog would tell you if they werent.
you just never know with these programs at times so definatley check that.

do thost things and let us know the result.

Sorry - I made a mistake, the message actually says "an error occured during export", not mixdown. Sorry if I gave the wrong information. Is the stereo master the same as the mixer located in devices? Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I can't see any mention of the stereo master in the Cubase LE tutorial.

I turned down the input (if this was the right option I went into) and still no difference.

the stereo master is on the big mix window panel.
i dont think its that now tho, but try to find it anyway.

i think its the button on the far right, at the left of the page.

anyway, what about the left and right locaters? are they set?

another reason could be you have some effects setup wrong and it doesnt like it, like the routing etc.

Thanks for letting me know about where the master is located. The left and right locaters are set fine and as far as I know I can't see any other problems.

well if you arent sure about the left and right locaters then they might not be set. do you know where/what they are?

Yeah, I know the left and right locaters but I only realised when I looked more closely that they weren't set properly. Sorry about this. I clicked on export to do the mixdown and now the complete song appears next to the Audio 4 box (the two original tracks are next to Audio 1 and Audio 2). Once I have done this, can I convert the mixed song to MP3 or Wav?

Thanks.

I have now managed to get the mixdown done for 2 of the songs and they have successfully been coverted to WAV files. I feel a bit stupid with how I didn't even notice that the left and right locaters weren't set properly.

However, although I have now set the locaters for the third song as well, it still isn't letting me do the mixdown. This is strange.

sounds to me youre gonna have to read your manual mate.

Things with these proggies is, if you dont read it, you'll be here every second day asking questions that are in there.

If its not exporting there' a reason for it, fx routed wrong anything thats not round the right way etc. have a read.

youre also gonna have to read up on exporting audio a bit better so you dont get the song brought back into your project.

have you checked the "real time export" box?

Cheers. I will have to have a good look through the manual. At least I got 2 of the songs exported so you are right saying that there is a problem with the 1 specific track. Thanks for your help.
