Acid Pro 7 recording problem

Hi everyone.

I am new to this forum so firstly hello! I am hoping that some of you will be able to help me. I am in a Metal band called Witchclan and as of 2009 have been doing it as a solo project.

I recently started to use Acid Pro 7 with EZ Drummer but I have had some serious issues recording and can't for the life of me work out what's wrong.

In the first track I have the drums and then I add an audio track and hit arm for record, then press record and start to play guitar along to the drums. Sounds easy enough but for some reason, in the new audio track it is recording the drums as well as the guitar so the end piece sounds terrible because the drums echo and are far too loud.

I need the audio track to record nothing but the guitar and keep the drums in the original track without bleeding them into the new audio track. Obviously after recording the guitar successfully I will be needing to record a second guitar track, bass and vocals so I need to correct this before I can move on otherwise it's just going to sound like a mess.

I have looked everywhere on the web and found a couple of suggestions, one of which said that there is no option on Acid Pro for this and that it is a 'feature' of my sound card. I just have a regular sound card that came with the PC but I don't see how it can be a problem with the sound card - please can anyone help as I am about to quit using Acid Pro and try something else.
