Triggering ezdrummer with e-drums in Cubase SL3

Hello, im having the issue of not being able to trigger the correct sounds with the vst instrument ezdrummer in cubase sl3 using my e-drums. When I have it set up as my e-drum(simmons) midi out to presonus midi in- to cubase, with vst instrument ezdrummer selected, my e-drums are only triggering the cymbals of ezdrummer. How do I route it correctly in cubase or? Not sure where to start. I have a midi track created to record, with ezdrummer set to multi channel outputs so I can have individual track control in Cubase. Does the issue have to do with me creating a new drum map. If so, how do i get the e-drums to trigger it. Right now the drum map is only triggered my mouse.?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
