I recently found a pair of 451 -20db pads while moving...i sold the mics a couple of years ago and cannot remember if they were 451b or 451eb...just that were older models...these -20 pads were with them but were misplaced in a nice comfortable storage...my question is does anyone have a clue to their worth...my assumption is that they work perfect as they did before...any help would be appreciated as I have no use for them now...

Thnx...

Anywhere between $250.00 to $550.00.

Great mics! We have about 10 of them where I work at.

Without the capsules, they maybe only worth about $200.00.

The 451 series uses the CK 1 capsule. And I think that you can still find them on Ebay.

Here is a link to the PDF of the 451. Page 12 starts the English portion.

I think muddyguy is saying that he has a couple -20dB inline pads. If the pads are generic -20 dB pads, then I'd guess they're worth between 20 and 30 dollars. If that 451 series has special inline pads that would change things but generic -20 dB inline pads aren't anything too valuable are they? I could be wrong.

Here's the family of products I'm thinking you may have:

No, they have a removable element. And some only had a -15dB pad to them.

This is what he is talking about.

Oops. Ignorance strikes again! What's the benefit of having the 451 specific pad vs a generic XLR->XLR inline pad?

Smaller footprint.

By the pad being built in to the mic, you don't have this huge thing hanging on the mic stand, or off of the back of the board.

This makes it safer to use as well. Your not putting all of the extra weight or strain on the mic or back of the board.

I'm going to have to look around a little on this one. I didn't even know that they made an inline pad for the 451 line. I'm use to just seeing a switch on the mic body.
