My computer does not recognize blank DVD+RWs. I have tried Sony and Memorex. Nero was installed on the computer when it came but it became infected with a virus and I deleted it. I don't have a Nero disk. Do I need to buy a program to get my computer to recognize these DVDs?

My DVD player is a Lite on DVDRW LDW411S. It recognizes film DVDs. OS is Windows XP.

Not sure, but I don't believe Windows XP has native DVD burning support, just CD support (though I could be wrong) search the net, there are loads of burning programs, for free and for pay, available.

Thank you for replying. I downloaded Nero Burnlite and I can get the DVD+RWs recognized through there. They were just not recognized through the usual control panel or autoplay. Probably like you said, an XP issue.

I've used this app cdburnerxp.se/en/home and it seems to be pretty good for free.
