I have been listening to these guys for at least 35 years. And I have been fortunate enough to sit down with Mr Guy over drinks a couple of times before he exploded to the well deserved fame and glory he has now. And talked with him a couple of times since then and he is true down to earth folk. And It still amazes me that at the ages of 74(Buddy) and 84 (BB). That they Can still dazzle the hardest to please fans on any given night. I'm not sure we have many artist left that will still contribute in to those ages or heaven forbid dazzle audiences at that point.

I'm still wishing for the chance to work with Buddy. I loved the last album Skin Deep. And I have always heard good things about him. You and everyone else that has had the opportunity to work or talk to him, has nothing but good things to say about him.

I've seen both in concert, and they are both fantastic shows. Buddy Guy was particularly special as he walked up through the stands, stopping and playing in front of fans for a few seconds, then moving up a few more steps to stop again.

He also walked around out on the concourse, playing for people outside the actual seating area.

BB was also great. Both are great artists.

I sure wish I could have been around for that drink. I can't think of a vocalist I admire more. I saw him live last year when he was touring off of Skin Deep, just a fantastic performer. Have you had a chance to watch his DVD My Time After a While? Great stuff that gets into his personal life, starting in Louisiana plucking long strands of metal from a broken screen door to make music. There's a great story in there about how he and Muddy Waters sent a blind keyboardist into a convenience store to steal some Vienna sausages bc their last gig didn't pay and they needed to eat. He ended up stealing cat food accidentally but they were hungry enough that they ate it anyway. He was laughing about it in the video...I hope it was at least wet cat food, yeesh, ha.

I still can't get over Blues Singer. That's my favorite of his, I think.

I was only about 18 the 1st time and early 20's the second time. At the time it was still Buddy Guy and Junior Wells. Mr wells was a category to himself, always dressed to the 9's, talking stuff and a very serious guy. The next time I was in my 40's and he was a super star by then considering I'm 50 now. But those 2 guys took some time out for a young guy and in doing so it really helped me out. Fortunately I was able to thank both of them a couple decades later. And that Blues Singer is for sure a quality change of pace for what you normally get to hear from him. The Muddy Waters influence is loud and strong on there.I also love that DVD, if you get a chance check out the DVD, Live with GT Smith & The Sat Night Band. I suppose I have a couple hundred DVD concerts and all of Mr guy's stuff ranks right up top. I just love these blues!!!!
