I just revisited this album since I wore out the cassette in '88 when I worked on Mackinac Island, Mi. His version of Hummingbird is one of my all time favorites, especially the guitar solo near the end of the song. All throughout the song it has a loose feel and a lot of feeling in the guitar riff and fills. I've heard Prison Blues a few times on the radio a few years back, but other than that I don't think this album got any of the airplay it deserved. Anyone interested in blues rock should definitely check this out, especially Hummingbird and the other instrumentals on it.

Thanks for the reminder! I havn't listened to that album since it's release. I remember thinking how different it's overall 'sound' was to everything else released before that time... especially anything that had Page in it. Kind'a raw, comparatively. It guess it was going to be a double-album, before the break-in/theft of the other halfs demos.

I wish Hummingbird was one of those instrumentals... I always thought the lyrics were a bit sappy. = p
