Oxygen 49 In FL Studio 9 no longer recording notes correctly

hi thanx for reading...

when i first got my oxygen 49 months back it was working fine with this software but i dont know what happened. basically now if i hit record to play a keys part live and record the notes i push, it will not record notes, but what it does record is the default notes u can click in... hard to explain... but it also only records for one bar's worth.

strangely, if I go into songmode and want to record a frequency modulation, that still works fine, for as many bars as desired... but when i want to record keys and hit actual notes all it records are the default notes for 1 measure regardless of what notes i press or for how many measures i try to record. also sometimes it will simply shut down and the keyboard powers off..

ive tried all kinds of dif settings in midi settings to map thru the sync with different selections and rescan midi devices and i dont know what else i might be able to try... or why this got changed in the first place...

it still 'plays' completely normally whatever sounds i press and whatever i set any knobs too works perfectly which is why i think its a software conflict or something and not a hardware malfunction.. with recording

i guess i should reinstall FL to see if that fixes the problem.. but any other ideas?

thanx for reading

Hmmm, it almost sounds to me like the loop recording is checked/enabled. Look in the options menu, and at the bottom under the switches heading you might see it. Make sure loop recording is not checked. I'm not 100% on this because technically you'd also only record one bar's worth of automation data with the loop going.

Also not sure, but it could be you've somehow set it to step or pattern-based editing/recording. I know back in earlier versions of FL (before there was a song mode) recording was done by patterns, and a pattern was only a set length, so if you wanted to do a full song, you had to use multiple patterns. Maybe you've somehow set it to that mode. Worth looking into at least.

Beyond that, not sure what else it could be. The Oxy49 powering itself down is kinda odd. Maybe you've got a bad or loose cable connection? Or, depending on your computer setup, maybe M-Audio's drivers need a reinstall. I use FL myself, though not in a live setting.

Hope that helps.
