Exporting from Cubase to ProTools

Hello everyone.
I am now using Cubase to record my bass tracks, and then I mix them down: i mean i cut them, copy, cross-fade them, etc.. so, if i open my Cubase project I see the two tracks (left and right channel of the soundcard, that are connected to a microphone in front of the amp and the other one in the Line out of the amp), and them are a set of many pieces joint together. I mean, if i did that note really bad, i just continued the recording, and later i re-recorded that note, for cutting out the bad one and putting the good into the track, using the Cross-fade utility.

Now i'm going to export my track into a .wav file, because it will be mixed with ProTools.

How do I do that in Cubase? i only need to set the markers, one at the start and the other at the end of the track, as I always do?

Because i've read that in ProTools the variuos track need to start at the exact same point, cause in ProTools they appear at the beginning.
I think the problem exists if someone has a lot of tracks and want to keep them separated in the mixing (in order to have a .wav file for each track), but in my case there shouldn't be problems.. right?

Thanks for the attention.

in cubase If you havent cut any off the very start of each track then just import into pro tools.

If you have cut off anything at the start then you'll have to make sure those tracks sit exactly in pro tools, where they were time wise in cubase.

what i would do if you have cut anything from the start of your tracking:
before you export from Cubase, make sure you drag the start of your waves, back towards the start point in the cubase project so then those waves will position themselves correctly in pro tools.

by dragging the wave, i mean dragging a blank (wave box) at the start of your audio, across, back to the start point, not the whole wave itself.

be easier just record in PT?

i dont think ull need to do anything special, these programs r quite user friendly. To make lining up ur trax easier however, it would be smart to place ur starting marker at bar 1 of the song just so that when u do line it up in PT u can just pop it in at bar 1 and be good to rock.

if u mix down in real time, even if u dont have wave content at bar 1 or so, itll just be silence, PT shouldnt penalize u for that

For multiple tracks: Theres a function called bounce. Think its in the edit menu, otherwise its in the shorcut menu.

Copy and past a sound or piece of silence at the start (00:00:00) of every track. 'Hit ctrl + A' and then 'Bounce'. Job done

For stereo file (like you have, I think?), you should be fine setting the marker at 0 and end?
