Hi there,

only me ;) wondering if you could help me...

im going to purchase the new iMac soon and have been contemplating what soundcard to buy for it.

obviously it would need to be an external device, possibly firewire or USB...

im currently using a pc with the maudio delta 1010lt soundcard but if im completely honest, ive never used all 10 inputs, or all 10 outputs..

at the very most ive only ever used 2 mic inputs...

so basically all id need to do would be to have 2 inputs (one for mic, one for a guitar) or 4...(2 mics, 2 guitars) at the very most

i use midi as well but thats not the end of the world because my keyboard is also a USB (maudio axiom 61)

please help me!!

how would it also work as far as connecting my monitors go? i have the m1 alesis 520 active monitors and connect them via XLR plugs....

i want to purchase the mac at the weekend so need to sort something asap :)

thank you very much! :)

you might want to look at the Presonus FireStudio Mobile. I am a Mac owner too and I have had good success with my Presonus FirePod.

Thanks for the response - I checked out both the firestudio and firestudio mobile. There both within my price range, the mobile one is probs my best bet because i simply won't use the rest lol altho I like the look of the other one lol I want to get a rack and put all my stuff in a rack too

I know this sounds a stupid question...

pic te mic/instrument inputs... What plug is that? I'm used to XLR (I've been out of the game for a while and have never seen this type of plug but have found it is fairly common now...)

Thanks very much!

Those jack are a combination XLR/TS mic/instrument jack. They will do both instrument and Mics...

The XLR mic inputs are routed to the XMAX solid-state mic preamplifiers. The high-impedance, TS instrument inputs let you plug guitars or basses directly into the front panel.

sounds awesome to me...i will definitely look into this - i think i might look for something that is "rackable" so i can buy a rack to put all my other equipment in as it looks neater...

any suggestions for something along the same lines but that is able to be stored in a rack?

like 4 inputs or something...

I use Tascam's US1641. Ive never had an issue with it. always turns on never turns itself off or complains.
Has 10 or so inputs if you really wanna get down to it.
I use a outboard pre straight into the digital in of the Tascam, it works great.
