In adobe audition 3.0 when i try to record vocals or anything in multi session track mode, it records everything including beats & music or anything thats being played in the back ground.
EVEN IF I KEEP MY MIC OFF & PRESS RECORDING BUTTON, IT STILL RECORD SOUNDS FROM OTHER LAYERS/TRACKS.
PLEASE CAN ANYBODY TELL ME I CAN'T FIND THE SOLUTION

What kind of sound card are you using? Sounds like a basic routing issue to me.

On the track you are recording, to the left there should be a button that says In. I think if you click that, you can select what you want the input to be. You will want to choose the input your mic is plugged into, and probably Left mono as well so you don't get a "stereo" recording.

Well that's how it is in older Audition versions anyway

Open the windows volume control, goto recording devices and select "mic in" instead of "what you hear". It may be called something else but basically it tells your soundcard to record "what it hears" instead of just the mic input. This is why you are getting everything on a track even when your mic is off.

This is a setting that needs to most likely be configured in windows and not your recording software.

Well, obviously Windows is routing the output to the software. I had this issue years ago when I was using the stock computer soundcard. I somehow muted or routed the output away from the (Magix) software inputs--the ASIO inputs. What are your exact output options? What does the control panel in Windows say (the "Sound Output Device")? There should be a drop-down window that shows your options (Only one, I think, in your case.) You might be stuck, but I'm unfamiliar with Audition, so I can't say for sure.. Let us know about the Output Device options. I know it's frustrating, but it shouldn't be happening, even with the stock card.

If your software is recording every sound being played even when the mic is off it leads me to believe you have checked the wrong settings.

Where exactly did you select the mic as your input recording device? Walk me through your process.

This is an old problem that is asked every few months and the fix is always the same.
