Roland td-7 as midi controller in cubase

Hey all, I have tried relentlessly, to figure this out on my own and have scanned these forums but haven't found a solution to my issue,
What we are trying to do is use the td-7 as a midi controller to trigger multiple sounds in cubase, here is my issue,
I'm using 2 pads atm, will be adding more as we get this figured out.
As of right now my kick pad and snare pad are triggering the same midi signal. or is it? I'm new to midi so I'm not really sure how this module sends it midi signals.
So I guess what I'm asking is how do I assign say, kick pad to midi signal 1 and snare pad to midi signal 2 and so on so cubase differentiates the different pad hits and triggers a different sound per pad hit?
I have read the manual extensively but there is no explanation on how to assign midi signals...I come to you Gurus please show me the way, thanks in advance for any advice

Hmm, it should be pretty easy to find i'd imagine. On my TD-4 i believe its under pad options, or just options. Then theres a part called "MIDI" and that changes what midi note its assigned to.

Could it also be that maybe the samples you're triggering are set to different notes? Think of midi in terms of keyboard notes, thats the easiest way for me at least.

Anyway, lets say Kick PAD is C1 (the 1 refers to the octave, it usually goes down to -2 octaves though, and includes 0). And the snare PAD is on D1. But on the Virtual Instrument you're using, the snare sample might be triggered when you play a C1 or a D1. Did i explain that all right? haha

Thats probably not whats happening, but i figured it might help you problem solve a bit.
