i know when a mic gets near a speaker it feedbacks,
so to avoid this is it better to have the speakers behind the mic to create a safe distance or in front of the mic since it wont be faceing the front of the speaker?
ok, thanks for your help.

Jun 08, 2010 09:52 am What situation are you referring to? Studio monitoring, live gig, practice space or what? Floor monitors in live shows or practice spaces are nice because it can be directly behind the microphone and still aiming right at the person that needs it, for the front of house speakers they should be off to either side, facing front...in the studio use headphones.

Jun 08, 2010 09:57 am off to either side as in a straight line with the mics, not in front or behind.
does that mean if the speaker is behind or in front it will feed back easier?
thanks.
Jun 08, 2010 10:01 am If the speakers are behind the performer, then the microphone will be aimed right at them, which is bad...in line with or in front off would be best...if it's behind, the singer moves around a lot, you might be asking for trouble.
