Absolutely. You should have no issues. Phantom power won't effect the 57s at all so mic away!

but just to be uber safe turn the phantom power OFF on the channel that you're using the SM57 on.
Also, make sure that the board is turned on and warmed up before you turn the phantom power on, if you have it on first and then turn on the board you could damage the board. One last thing, when you plug the mic in have the phantom power to that channel OFF so that you don't damage the mic.

Hmmm

Well, most boards don't have "phantom power switches" for each channel, and also, there's no reason why having the phantom powering switched on when you turn on the desk would cause any damage.

However, you are totally correct about plugging XLR cables in - make sure that the Phantom Power is switched OFF when you are plugging or un-plugging any condensor mic's that are using the +48v it provides or you WILL damadge them (just imagine if someone just pulled the plug out of your computer - same sotra thing)

Also, only use XLR to XLR cables with phantom power and you will get some nasty results if you use XLR to Jack Cables!

Jues, my phonics board has seperate switches for each channels phantom power.

And yeah, I was just telling you what I do to prevent any damage to the mics. Didn't say it was all needed.

Loki that is pretty trick for a low budget board to have a switch for each channel.

Noize- yeah it is, it's a pretty nice little board, even though it is a phonics.

fair play - I used to own a smaller phonic mixer - not bad piece of gear.
