Hi all,
Glad to meet you here.
I am movie fans ,and have collected lots of movies. Some of them are very old. Several day ago , I attempted to load one of my favorite movie on my Mac OS operating system , but managed to corrupt the decrypted DVDs. My mac computer did not see it.
Google search, I loaded WinX DVD For Mac (free software until April 15) on my computer and ran it (of course, I never taste it with my favorite movie, I try with 3d movie - Alice in Wonderland, very fast and the quality is ok. LOL…).
This software truly "saved my bacon." The original price is $39.95.
I highly recommend it!
I get it here:

Apr 14, 2010 10:30 am See, now, is that spam or pirating, no mention of license numbers, though I think the program sucks ***, Format Factory is better, and free.
Apr 14, 2010 09:03 pm I've never tasted that one.

Apr 15, 2010 12:40 am Well, it just looks like spam. I went to the site, and it looks like the developer company is giving away the software for free... not a pirate site. Unless I was fooled that is...
Apr 15, 2010 07:02 am That was a "give away of the day" a few times.

Apr 15, 2010 11:23 pm actually WinX DVD is completely illegal software due to its license violation regarding ffmpeg
...Format Factory is also a violator.

Apr 16, 2010 07:24 am That is very interesting. I've often wondered about the legality of these DVD ripping apps...especially when they say they get passed encryption methods and such stuff...it can't be legal.
That said, Format Factory is very handy when it comes to video format changing and such things...I am sad to hear they are violating terms like that...cuz the app is awesome.
WinX DVD sucks anyway.

Apr 16, 2010 08:46 am I don't think it is illegal to rip a DVD (change formats) if you own the DVD. You purchased the that content, you can do what you like with it (unless there is some explicit text that says ripping the DVD is in violation of the terms of purchase or something like that).
I think what zek is talking about is these comapanies use ffmpeg technology in their software without licensing it from the company who owns the rights to it. That is what makes these softwares "illegal".
Apr 16, 2010 08:53 am Oh, yeah, I know what he was referring to, I was just elaborating on the thought...
Quite honestly, I have gotten so lost in the whole RIAA/DRM B.S. I have lost track of what's legal and what isn't any more...last I heard is that just because you bought the media doesn't mean you are free to do what you want with it...and I know that groups were trying to rewrite "fair use" law...then I got sick of listening so I kinda stopped paying attention.

Apr 16, 2010 08:13 pm I completely agree db. I stopped paying attention as well. There's way too many details and qualifications.
Apr 18, 2010 01:34 am For a mac person this works, good deal and the price is right.. I got it and the activation was provided on the page I was on. I think it was something like a 15 day promo period to get it. Love mac but software for this stuff is so far behind what's out there for PC.
