What filters do they use to make the radio voices in Star Wars VI and THX 1

the affected voices are present when the SW crew are on Hoth, and at the start of THX 1138. what audio filters do they use on them to make them sound like that?

i have absolutely no idea, idk if anyone will.
but here's a fun fact: general greivous's voice was made by using a ring modulator, i saw this doco once n they were interviewing the audio engineer.

Ah yes...the ol' "which vocal effect did they use in Star Wars VI on Hoth" question. That's probably the most common thread on this forum aside from 'Which audio interface should I choose?"

We should have a new family of forums; each dedicated specifically to effects used in the different Star Wars movies. C'mon Dan get with what the people want!!!
