Hello again, does anyone know of some good synth software for pc?
Preferably vst's. I tried the Massive Synth pack or whatever it's called, which I like.

And without starting another thread, do you guys know of any soundfonts/vst's that emulate famous synthesizers like the yamaha dx7 n ****?
I havn't been able to find any :@

While I hate to cross post, here's a big list of all sorts of stuff. I'm pretty sure there's some real decent synths in there.

I know OLGA is referenced in there somewhere, which is shareware.

forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=563

Many other things to be looking into as well.

I think on the first page there's a reference to a DX8 emulator. I'm sure there's others, just have to look through it (11 pages).

No Olga, see here for Olga: www.stillwellaudio.com/?page_id=37

Here's a big list, found link in the thread I posted above:

another one:
" Double Six is a 6-operator FM synth with 32 DX7 algorithms and 16 4-operator algorithms."

scroll down a little.

EMU Proteus VX, nice stuff in there, definitely worth a DL here;

That should keep you busy for awhile. I know the kontact stuff has some nice stuff in it too, but I found Proteus to be more likable, the short time I poked through them.

I've messed around with double six, but it's daunting to look at,
not really sure how to fully use it lol
Oatmeal sounds pretty sick

I'm like that too, most of them are pretty ominous. Too many bells/ whistles/doodads, etc for me to grasp =/

That's why I'm a bit of a pre-set junky, flip through presets till i find one that's close, then tweak a little.

FL Studio has some synths that are pretty nice that come with it, but they also have like 5 other BIG synths. I bought Sytrus a few years ago on a group buy, but they have others now too.

Image-line is the company.

Here's a great, free synth, Novakill's NitreousPM :

Here's a review I wrote after creating a bank of 64 presets, some of which have an FM sound:

Here's the link to the Banks/Patches page at KVR. My bank, UsabilityPM, is the 6th one down:

Sweet, thanks Moe.

I picked up a KVR pack (of oatmeal) someone put together that has a bunch of presets, banks, and other stuff.

I guess you can reskin oatmeal too, to be easier to use, though I haven't figured out how yet. I noodled with some presets, and poked around a bit, but not much.

Oatmeal Pwns. Hands down....absolutely luv the randomize button.

Also, I forget the link, but look up GTG synths. Great stuff there too.

Argh, back to work with me.
