Feb 26, 2010 01:12 pm I told my doctor "it hurts when I do this", doctor said "don't do that".
A little more info would help, is you PC plenty powerful...did it work before? What did you install since it quit working? Are all patch and update levels current for the OS, apps and device drivers?

Feb 26, 2010 01:24 pm Under tools goto audio hardware, there is a checkbox for release audition in the background (might be under audio control panel). This will allow you to track while clicking in other windows.
Feb 26, 2010 01:26 pm Audition actually has an option to make it behave like that?!?!?

Feb 26, 2010 01:37 pm Yeah, it's basically a way to lock down the audio driver. It's a compatability mode of sorts if you are having conflicts.
I have never needed to check that box.
Dec 11, 2014 03:53 am SOLVED - I've been battling this issue for awhile, im on windows 8.1 and this worked
Go to your Adobe Audition Directory and right click on "Audition.exe" Check "Run in compatibility mode" and choose vista, Works like a friggin charm now
hope that helps you!
