Another audio contest: posted by J-bot

Just got an e-mail from my dad-in-law. Apparently CNET 404 Podcast is holding an audio contest in the coming weeks. There will be 6 winners, and the prizes are these babies:

The top 3 get the copper versions, and the bottom 3 get the gold versions. I listened to the podcast with the info, and it sounds like they're judging for quality of sound. Not quality of performance (though they did say they wouldn't mind if the performance was good heh) They do want people to mail in actual CD's though. Sounds like the emphasis will be on rock, blues, jazz, acoustic, etc. Not so much electronic/dance/trance/hip-hop or rap, and et cetra, since the judge stated he wouldn't feel comfortable judging those genres. However the rock/jazz/whatever tunes can have electronic elements or instruments within, I think.

Sounds like the contest will end April 12th, and the rules will be posted within the next week.

The contest info should be somewhere in the last quarter of the show. Episode 522. I might see if I can throw something together to enter in, or polish up one of my existing works a little more.
