So I saw Less Than Jake tonight. Then I met Less Than Jake tonight. Then I found out Vinnie from Less Than Jake runs a record label. The I told Vinnie about my band and he asked me for a demo. For some odd reason I just happened to have one in my pocket.
Vinnie from Less Than Jake has my bands demo.
:-D

Apr 22, 2003 11:04 am BigFan,
You are wierding out! A welcome addition to the rest of us nutballs! I did a song called "Prowd to be a Yuppie from YpsiTuckey" that I could use Jake on! Does he have a manager? I'll have to post it here. Makes people nuts. That is my mission! Make people nuts. Can he do the sustained "Barrrrerrrr" in C major?
Apr 22, 2003 02:12 pm Hee-Hee-Heee!!!!!!
Walt,
Jake is a very versatile performer. I know that he could handle any and all tasks that you may ask of him. Being his full time manager is a very demanding job that takes up much of my time. His demand page makes David Lee Roth look like a piker!! He is available for hire but I must tell you that the contract negotiation usually kills the deal. You may want to rethink your offer.

Apr 22, 2003 10:13 pm Well, I guess when you are the best at what you do, you can prety well make whatever demands you want. I really would love to find a lab that can hold down a blues progression in Bb.
Apr 22, 2003 10:15 pm "How did they get their name?"
From the LTJ website:
"My parents had an 80 pound english bulldog. He had his own private space on the couch, my parents would get take out food just to feed him, and he was treated like a king. His name was 'JAKE'. So, everything in my house was less...than...JAKE."

Apr 23, 2003 12:20 am Did he sing too? I would if I could get take out food instead of scrounging through the cubards.
Bigfan,
I crunched the song into an MP3 but I have to wait until the upload sanction is removed. I will let Jake, know when it is posted and maybe he can talk his manager into letting him sing. I am sure he will love it!
Apr 23, 2003 08:36 am Love the story of the pitbull. Sounds just like my Jake. He's not allowed on the couch but he has his own beanbag chair. He also gets his own portion of whatever we have for dinner too. He's up in age so I have to cut up his steak for him. He's worth it. Best dog I ever had. Smart as a whip and loves music. He has his own little spot in the corner of the studio too. Jake rocks!!!!!
Walt,
I've informed him of the upcoming job. He may sing for it or he may not. He's an artist and you know how artists are. If not, we have a few samples of his work and maybe we could patch a little sumpin' sumpin' together!!!!!

Apr 23, 2003 10:25 am That would be cool. Seriously! Maybe if it is not too much trouble you could upload them temp like soes I could snatch them up. If that's ok with Jake, of course!
Apr 23, 2003 10:33 am I'll check what's in the archives tonight. Its mostly just grunts and groans. He has a bum leg and makes some godawful sounds sometimes when he gets up and lays down. His nickname is Tripod! I think we recorded him dreamin one time too which was funny as hell. I'll check and see what we got.

Apr 23, 2003 10:43 am Very cool, I am sorry to hear he is in pain. I obviously don't know how you feel about your pets, but Sam, (Cat) is a member of the family, pretty much adopted son with a tial.
Apr 23, 2003 11:11 am Actually, I don't think he's in pain, I think he is just older and stiffens up alot. I've got about 2 grand sunk into his bad leg. He got hit by a car about 5 years ago and it shattered about 3 inches of bone. After a couple operations and a ton of vet visits, Jake's in pretty good shape. All I gotta do is take out his soccer ball and you should see him spark up.
Like I said he's smart as a whip. He got so much attention when he was going through his surgeries and cast changes that even now when he needs some TLC he whips out the famous "Limp". Hence, the name Tripod.
Jake knows he's one of the family. We got him when my daughter was six months old and he is the son I never had. He has his own Christmas stocking. Hell, when he was a puppy he slept with us cause I couldn't stand hearin' him cry. Trust me, I'll be a total mess when ol' Jake rolls out. I love him like one of the family and like him better than most people I meet!
