"Happy Daze people"

Just a quick 1!!!

I would like to record the automations from my mixer (ddx 3216)
I know i can record the Vol faders,Panning and Fx in cubase but i would like to record the EQ changes aswell.

Do i need to get an ADAT recorder to do this or is there away of doing it without spending to much money?

cheers

What's your recording software? It can be done in PT...but since you're on HRC there's a good chance you don't use Pro Tools, hah.

Oh there should be quite a few people here who can give you details on what to do in Cubase. I've never used it but I hear nothing but good things, I wouldn't switch for the sake of functionality or recording quality. Cubase should be as good as PT.

On PT, there's an automation drop down menu on each plugin where you can choose the parameter you'd like to automate. Select the appropriate control and make sure the automation button on the TRACK (not the plugin) is in write mode. Play the song back while making the parameter adjustment. The parameter adjustment should be recorded but before playing it back be sure to change the automation mode on the TRACK (not the plugin) to 'read'. That's the process for Pro Tools.

I doubt that's applicable in Cubase but that's all the advice I can offer. Good luck!

That is darn near the same as audition. Set to write, make changfes on playback, set to read, listen!
