Has anyone ever used Addictive Drums? A friend of mine was telling me that it was pretty awesome. It looks pretty cool, with all the different presets and whatnot. It looks like there is a lot of tweaking you can do to the drum samples to get them sounding like how you want.

I'm working on a album right now that we're using AD for every drum sound. We're getting all of our MIDI data in through a Roland TD-4 drum kit and replacing the roland sounds with Addictive Drums. I'm able to add compression, and a few effects (room sound or hall sounds) through 2 effects busses included in the program. I'm able to EQ each drum and on the kick switch beater side mic to the head side mic depending on if you're looking for more "click" in the kick or more of a thump. I'll upload the drum and bass tracks of a song I'm working on so you can hear how it sounds in a real life application.

AD is pretty good overall from wat ive tried and heard, but the subtle dynamics r not as comprehensive as EZDrummer, but i think theres a bit more variety in the kits

That sounds pretty good. I like the sound of the snare on that track. I'm digging the tune as well. It's always nice to hear it in a real life application as opposed to some drum software demo where they add ridiculous amounts of reverb. Sometimes I have a hard time getting a good kick and snare sound out of EZdrummer. That's cool that you can switch the mic between beater side and head side; I play mostly metal, so it would be great to get more of a click sound.
