Yep, gave it a listen. I don't really have much to critique. I will say that the worldly sounds are nice, especially the percussion. The track and style really reminds me of the work Adam Skorupa did for the game adaptation of "The Witcher" Check out some of the action/combat tracks if you can. Some of the slower combat tracks are pretty good.

Hell, all the music from that game was really nicely done. Anyway, give it a listen if you get a chance. There are some really interesting uses of textures and sounds in many of the game's soundtracks, and the good majority has a worldly bent. Some of it celtic, some of it more eastern european sounding.

This is solid stuff man, very nice layout and a great sound overall. It does indeed remind me of some Witcher style RPG as well.

Thanks for the feedback - You guys are 100% right with the 'rpg' feeling. :) The tune is supposed to be main character theme written for a group of rpg enthusiasts. They love playing larps (live-action-role-play) and are in the middle of shooting their first movie - with me as composer on a board.

As for the Witcher - my fiancee bought me the game for last Christmas. Soundtrack is fabulous - not the one included on extra cd, full game version's far better imho!

you are going ape balls with these, they all sound good to me, i used to work at a big game company with a buncha nerds and they were all grouped in catagories, i was friends with some of the larp nerds, strange strange hobby :) but i can see how it can be fun. I myself have tried doing this kinda music for an indie game i was working on, but never was any good at complex music arangements,, i'm more of the crank up the volumes an scream kinda guy.

Well, thanks for the reply :D I'm not the one to judge these guys, I find larps rather positive. We'll see how they like these tunes I've made for them...

Sorry I haven't gotten back in awhile. PC Deployment has been keeping me pretty busy lately. It all sounds good to me to be honest. The music is well mixed, and nice and clear, particularly the percussion.

The only thing is the last one you just posted feels somehow "bland" to me. I'm not sure what it is yet. The percussion is lively, but I'm wondering using a different texture with lower more menacing instruments like contrabass/cello tuba or euphonium/trombone. Possibly throw in some horns, and contrast that with some lighter segments with flute and vins. Though, as it is, it still works nicely enough for battle-type music.

You could also use longer notes to build up to a quick section, and then have that transition quickly back into a slower section. I'm thinking it could be applied to both percussive and melodic elements here.

Anyway, I'm just brainstorming since I've always had an ear for action/battle/whatever styled music in games. Baldur's Gate 1& 2, The Witcher, Neverwinter Nights, etc.

I'll try to see if I can draw up a quick excerpt or something over the next week to describe what's in my head. But you've got some great ideas going.

Keep it up!

Edit: Oh, one last thought, since it's supposed to be action/battle type music, and fights can be somewhat jarring, don't be afraid to make the transitions abrupt. :) That's the way I see it at least.
