Sonar 2.2 Or Cubase SX?

Hi
I'm just going to take the plunge and purchase my first serious recording software. I know its going to be a bit of a steep learning curve and eventually i would like to make a c.d. So do i go for Sonar 2.2 it looks like its got some great features especially how you can construct a drum track with loops etc. But i read somewhere that the audio recording quality of Cubase SX is far superior although more expensive and you have to buy Recycle for doing loop applications. I'm tempted towards Sonar but what do you think?
Thanks

the quality should be nearly identical, limited only by the interpolation algorhythms of each program. download the demos and see which one suites you.

No no no!

Blogs:
One foot two
Brains are few
Love to chew on me and you
Has anybody seen my Blog?

Algorithm:
Under the tide
With mouths so wide
And brains that never stop turning
The algorithms are dreaming of you
With stomachs that never stop churning

I love Cubase SX. Use other loop progs for import.

Hi
So you think Sonar 2.2 would do it then? They have it in stock at my local shop so I think I will get it tomorrow.

Thanks

::shrugs:: i still use the old Cakewalk Pro Audio 9, and it's a clumsy old thing. I don't know much about Sonar. Having messed around on it at my friend's house, they seem to made some big improvements.

Before you drop a couple hundred whatevers on a new toy, download that demo and take it for a test drive.

Vikki, yes I use Xonar 2.2 XL and I also use Cubase. For the purpose you are looking for Soanr would work best for you as all the things you need are integrated into one program.
