Does anybody use Cool Edit Pro? Problem with recording a vocal

Why is it when I'm recording a wav in Cool Edit Pro the wav turns out slower on the recording than how I recorded it?

For example I'll put in a instrumental on a track, then I'll record the vocal on another track in time with the intrumental, when I play it back the vocal is slower & trying to edit the BPM through Time > Pitch > Stretch is just a nightmare & never matches up.

I'm only recording for fun so quality ain't overly important but the timing is.

Any idea, it's really pissing me off that the wavs are slower than the actual recording I did of it.

Thanks

In cool edit pro, under options/multitrack there is a button for "auto correct drift in recordings". Make sure that is checked as well.

Anyway, no ASIO support and no ability to monitor effects without applying them. Time to upgrade your software :) Reaper is free to try and full featured as well.
