There is a synth for PC that was doing that several years ago. Not quite the same look but the same type end result. You build your own modules and assemble them into a synth of sorts.

It was called Tassman. I've been using it for years and it is extremely cool.

But the down side is it is also the deepest and most difficult piece of software to use.

Unless you have a very deep and extreme understanding of an analogue synth you will be lost in the abyss forever trying to figure out how to put things together to make sound.

That MAc software looks like it avoids some of that.

cool, a reason to do something on my MAC =).

There's also the Plogue Bidule, which is also modularized, somewhat similar, i'm thinking. Fun to play around with, but was weird to figure out and get going.
