Help with the mix please. Metal Song
Nov 08, 2009 11:57 am While it's not really my type of music, I think overall the mix sounds fine. I'm don't think there's any problem with the vocals. They could be a little more crisp I think, or maybe a little more forward, but really they don't sound bad at all.

Maybe someone who's more into this genre can offer some better criticisms than me. I do think the mix sounds pretty balanced for the most part though.

Nov 08, 2009 05:15 pm Yep, the only thing I would think of tweaking a bit is the scream and growl vocal together. Finding a way to git it a little bit more out front. It does at times seem a bit narrowed or almost sounding like its trapped in a barrel. I think adding a small amount of higher frequency to them would bring them out front of the guitars a bit more. They are present, but could be a bit more present to sound better. They seem loud enough in the mix, but just need that small bit more definition to stand out a bit more.

The singing harmony vocals on the other hand fit perfectly and sound fantastic in the mix.
Other then that I liked the mix, the drums were set back a bit but very much in the mix so that isn't a problem either. The arrangement as well worked for this song and kept me listening to the end.

Feb 06, 2010 02:44 pm a little on the topic but i thought it sounded great.the bass sound really good.did you use a di and mic?
Feb 06, 2010 03:52 pm I think the drums sounded great and the bass too but the guitar not so much, it was a bad tone but the riffs were okey, for the singing I didn't like it at all. "singing" or growling/screaming. You should try to find a better guitar tone and maybe try to sing it instead of growling. Just my opinion.
