Hi there
I need some advice.
Although i've been making music for 10 years now I have recently changed my set up and have come a bit stuck.
I have outboard synths and FX.
I was using a Mackie Onyx 24 desk with terrible results.
I then started recording directly in to my apogee duet.
No problems sounded clean as a whistle.
I decided thus to get rid of my desk.
I sold my duet and bought an Eventide H8000FW. The plan is to use the H8000FW as my sound card.
Now having no desk i need some kind of console monitoring system.
I have a pair of genelec's 1029a's and have my H8000FW going into my Akai MFC42 filter.
Genelec's out of the MFC42.
This is by far not ideal but it has headphone socket and i can control the volume for the speakers.
I have looked into a lot of things presonus central station spl/mpatch,big,knob,coleman audio but have just got more confused and now have no idea what i need.
I just want someting with headphone monitoring and that is transparent.

any advice would be great

the central station or the big knob would be just fine for this.

This is what I recommend. Transparent, multi-function and well built. Not cheap but they do the job very well.

The Dangerous D-Box is very good as are all his products.

And ya, the Big Knob can work. Not extremely transparent without some modification though. But its a good deal cheaper then the D-Box as well.

I posted this already just above but I'll drop it here again. This is the box I recommend most times if you want something transparent. It is one of the cleanest boxes out there. The Dangerous D-Box.

And as well I mentioned that the BigKnob is a bit colored, but they can be modified. I use a modded one and its nearly as transparent as the D-Box. But modding it brings the price up as well so the extra money to invest in the D-Box is a worthwhile investment. I needed something our of a rack so the BigKnob was my best option after modding it.
