Hi,
I'm new to this forum and I've decided I need help.
I have a Roland XV 5050 and I'm using Cubase SX for recording software. The problem I have is that I cannot figure out how to rum simultaneous sounds using all 16 MIDI channels. I can only seem to use 1 channel at a time and if I manually change a MIDI channel to use another sound (which I thought was long winded) I loose the sound on the previous MIDI channel. What's more, as I scroll thorugh the sounds on cubase it misses some sounds on the XV 5050, and the sound 'banks' on cubase have no effect on it?
I know I'm clearly not doing what I should be in order to use if properly but the manual is so complicated I can't make head nor tail of it.
I have been previously using a Proteus 2000 and it is so user friendly and syncs uncomplicatingly via MIDI.

Mar 08, 2010 12:23 pm Hello Martin.........I'm in the same boat as you Roland XV5050 which is a dog to work with in conjunction with Cubase VST. I came across one person a Studio technician who could make some sort of sense out of it but I certainly can't get it to work in a normal manner.
I was wondering did you get any patch to improve the situation or are you still floundering around? I guess the XV5080 may be easier to use as you have a bigger screen but thats not much help to us.
Would be interested to hear how you got on. Russell
