Using Cubase 5 Essential with an MBox 2 Pro

I'd like to know if it's possible to use Cubase 5 Essential with a MBox 2 Pro, on a Mac system running OS X.

I've heard contradicting reports about this : some people say it can work pretty well, others say Cubase might be unstable.

Is there any way to test it before buying the actual product?

I personally run both Pro Tools and Cubase with a M-Audio Delta 44 but a friend of mine already has a MBox 2 Pro and would like to use Cubase too.

Thanks for your help!

If the software can use the Mac audio drivers or whatever it uses then it should be good to go. I can't see much on system requirements other then Mac OSX and that is about it. I didn't though find any thing negative saying it didn't run on it.

im not sure about C5 either, i have heard some reports of it having some issues, as its new, but they all do at first, till the updates come out i guess.

cant see why it wouldnt run just fine with any OS really.
I run C4 on my Mac just fine. till i overload it that it is.

im still learning to do everything in the correct order now. (when to start adding effects etc to conserve cpu)

C 5 Essential is the light version though so that has to be taken into account.

I had to look twice as well at first. I simply thought Cubase renamed itself again.

And the MBox 2 Pro would be compatible with Cubase 5 even though it's supposed to work with pro tools usually?

The idea is if Cubase 5 Essentials can run in OSX and use the drivers that are available for the M-Box. I can't see anywhere that it says it will or won't work with other DAW's. I know several digi interfaces over the years have been used by friends in otherr DAW's so I am guessing the M-Box 2 Pro should be the same. But I'm not basing that on any fact posted anywhere that I can see.

But yes, it is able to work with Mac Audio drivers so Cubase should see it if that is ported to run on the Mac.
