Obtaining Copyright???

Hey HRC, hope things are goin' well for everyone.

I use, among other things, Propellerhead's Reason 4.0 to create hip-hop instrumentals. While I'm not solely hip-hop, it's what I hope to make money off of...leasing beats seems profitable if it's done right. I was wondering if any of you have any experience with obtaining copyrights for a completed piece of music? I'm guessing the principles are different with mine since I'm using samples, but what is the general procedure?

Any light you can shed on the subject would be appreciated!

i dunno much about copyright but seems everyone just does what they want these days anyway.

it seems hard enough to copyright a song let alone a sample so dunno.
i guess copyrighting the actuall sample itself would be cool but i dunno you could CR a progression or drum passage.

havin said that though, with songs, its all pretty much been done anyway, so cant see how anyone who writes wouldnt be unknowingly ripping off something thats been done.
some songs these days a just a blatent rip off though and i think they should get their ******kicked for it.

anyway i'll stop ranting, good luck, whatever happens mate.
