Recording Rap Vocals On Microphone Help. Buzzing Sound

Posted on

Hello, i was wondering if i could get some help.

I have an Audio Technica AT2O2O Microphone (NOT USB)
With Apex Phantom Power Supply

Witch is connected to my Stanton SA.3 Mixer

Witch leads out to my computer threw the line in

Whenever i record on Audacity, i get this buzzing sound in the background of my recording.

(Important!!)
I know that its not my computer because: When i unplug the line-in on my computer from the mixer and play the microphone out loud threw speakers, i still get the buzzing noise. (and when i record threw the built-in mic, theres no buzz)

Other than this buzzing sound, the actual sound quality is quite good.

Everything's Perfect Except this buzzing sound!
Any help is appreciated

i would say follow the signal path, find out where the buzz is happening
try using another mic,
a different cable
track down where the issue is happening, and then we may be able to find a solution :)

I agree with Nate.

look to see if any of the cables are unbalanced. That is usually the culprit.

Check that all your equipments plugged into the same circuit/outlet as well...
