hey whats up everyone i havent been on here in a while. so how is every one doing? wel i got a few questions for starters
1. okay im intrested in purchasing the mackie inyx1640mixer. but was woundering whats a best method to record bands. should i got from the snake straight to the board and to a computer and do all my compression in the software? or should i get multi channel amps(focusrite ISA 828) to a multi channel compressor (presonus ACP88) the to the board?
2. now if its a good idea to use pre amps at the begening of my chain which multi channel pre is better? Focusrite ISA 828 or focusrite octopre? I know the price pretty much says which is better but is the octopre good? and if so is the digital snake (i think thats what there called) compatable with the rest of my hardware? (from amos to compressor or mix board)
3.now on the mackie onyx 1640 board can some one please tell me what the 6 auxilliary send are for? are they individual head phone mixes? and if not can some one point me to a 16 channel mixboard with individual mixes and are fire wire or some where close to that and close to price!
thank you to everyone reading and helping in advance! i apriciate it a bunch!

Sep 15, 2009 05:45 pm Bummer he got PO's on that. There were a lot of post's that got lost after that week of crap from SBC AT & T. My bad I guess for not catching this one. But honestly he isn't gonna get any better service at Gearslutz. Maybe some attitude from the newb hater's over there.
My apoligies Jube. But bumping the thread might have gotten some attention rather then just letting it sit and then swearing at us.
And for the record, its Bi, not Gay.
Sep 28, 2009 02:33 pm The Aux sends are for tailored mixes to individuals or recordings x 6 .( if you want a straight answer ;)

Sep 28, 2009 02:37 pm Yeah I never even saw this post and will echo the too bad as I owned an onyx 1640. I read that manual time after time to get a good grasp of all the routing optinos available.

Sep 28, 2009 08:03 pm SBCglobal's network had some serious issues, and HRC was affected. The site was migrated to a new host machine to rectify the problem. Again big kudos to HostPC for the quick fix and response; I love this forum xD
Anyway that said, if Jube had bothered to read the posts concerning the issues with SBC, and/or checked out the HRC facebook, maybe he would have realized many of us had no connectivity to HRC for about 1 week+
Also bare in mind that a site migration with a database as large and complex as HRC is no easy or simple feet. Just be glad everything stayed relatively intact and move on.
