I honestly only searched for like not even 10 min so sorry if its been asked alot already...
Basically how do people go about setting up a click track for a song with different tempos?
(i have sonar) My best guess would be to some how route the built in metronome to a track and record it, then change tempos and move on..?
thanks in advance!

Aug 16, 2009 11:53 pm Most DAWs will have some kind of tempo window inwhich u can draw and program in tempo changes and such. Once that is done turning on the DAWs internal metronome will mean it will just follow the changes.
My band likes to use midi to actual play a bar of cowbell hits or something, which when pasetd to the various bars will also change tempo accordingly. We just like have it as a track instead of an internal metronome, its a bit mroe flexible.

Aug 17, 2009 03:39 pm Right, if you set your project's tempo then the metronome will follow it. If you create a tempo change event, the metronome will follow that too. It's the same way in Cubase, which is what I use, and I've set up a few songs that have tempo changes in them. The metronome goes by whatever the tempo track says.

Aug 19, 2009 07:59 pm Actually depending on the version of Sonar you have the metronome will follow project tempo. So if it changes then the metronome will as well.
Another alternative is to simply write out your own click using one of the drum synths in Sonar or what have you. And that as well will follow project tempo.
