hi...i'm looking for a card that is good, but not expensive, that will allow me to track somewhere between 4 and 8 tracks at one time. i'm using windows 2000, and i've already got an audiophile 2496 for other recording uses. i currently am using sonic foundry vegas to record.

if anyone has any suggestions, i would very much appreciate it!

I would personally reccomend the M-Audio Delta 1010 - 8 analouge inputs, 8 analouge outputs and 2 SPDIF digital ins and outs.

This unit has good WDM drivers (essential if you are working in Vegas et 2000) and also boasts some great ASIO drivers for when / if you make the move over to another program.

You can get this card from Musician's Friend by clicking here: service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

Also, if that's a touch pricey, there is also a "Lite" version of this card avaliable (called the Delta 1010 LT) which has all the above features but does not come in a "break out box" rack style unit - instead, all the inputs and outputs are on cables which come from the backplate of the card.

jues.
