Anyone have an idea on how to stream LIVE audio over the web. What software is needed? What kind of computing resources? How can it be presented on a website?
If anyone has any ideas or resources, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

Jul 17, 2009 12:19 pm Thanks BH. unfortunately the program you suggested does not seem to take a live audio feed like someone talking and encode and then stream it immediately. It's more of a audio file streamer...
The idea is to broadcast over the internet a live call in radio show (only it's not on the radio...).

Jul 17, 2009 01:18 pm Actually, the dj's I know come on air and introduce the songs live etc so I'm pretty sure it works for what you want. They even use it for streaming Skype sessions. Let me double check to make sure this is the exact softward they use.

Jul 18, 2009 05:14 pm I know radio station's mostly use a hardware link set up. But here is a link to a bunch that many seem to be capable of taking a live feed directly from an audio interface and broadcasting it.

Jul 18, 2009 09:23 pm Ya, I stumbled on that place while searching Google for something in freeware for you. I have heard the name but never looked into their site. I will however now be using it as it looks like they have links to tons of freeware and shareware for just about anything you can think of.
